Western Michigan University and was on the All Mid-American Conference Team, winning the Outstanding Defender award. While attending law school, he played professional soccer in Canada.
 
Bio:
John comes with a wealth of experience. John coached for the  Northwest Nationals where he won four Washington State championships with three different teams and one Far West Regional championship in 2002. The 2002 team was ranked fourth in the nation and was undefeated in Division One. John was twice voted NW Nationals Coach of the Year, and has won over 25 tournaments since 2000.

Outstanding soccer skills run in the Wagner family. John coached his daughter, Theresa Wagner, who went on to play at the University of Washington, where she holds six scoring records and was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame. Theresa went on to play professionally for the San Jose Cyberrays in the WUSA. She is currently the number one assistant coach for the Stanford University women's soccer team.
